Our Sustainable Farming Scheme petition signed by over 2,500 of you. With the help of Pippa the panda, we handed thousands of names to the Cabinet Secretary to help shape the scheme.

We commissioned a report on ‘Extreme weather and its impacts on farming’. This new data caught the attention of the media. Welsh Government have since extended and expanded organic support to farmers and launched a climate adaptation policy.

Seeds of hope
Seeds of hope
Seagrass Network Cymru, led by WWF Cymru and Project Seagrass, submitted a world-leading National Seagrass Action Plan to the Welsh Government to help rapidly scale up seagrass restoration. Welsh Government has now funded a seagrass scheme coordinator role to deliver the scheme.
During the summer, over 1.5 million seagrass seeds were collected in an amazing joint volunteer effort. Our WWF Cymru Ambassador, Iwan Rheon, also rolled up his sleeves to help!
We also supported the trial of a robotic sled that planted over 300,000 seagrass seeds to boost restoration efforts.

This year, we partnered with the FAW to deliver a special message for Earth Hour Wales. Working with the WWF office in Finland, WWF Suomi, we promoted Earth Hour in three languages during the Cymru V Suomi game. This helped us reach millions of people!

Working with Urdd Gobaith Cymru, we’re improving access to residential placements and opportunities for environmental workshops. We supported a number of reduced-cost places on Urdd sustainability courses in their new Pentre Ifan site, Pembrokeshire.

In 2024, we supported 29 groups with our Community Grant scheme – bringing the total of the past few years to 72 projects! From a hedgehog friendly campus in Cardiff and Swap Shops in St Davids, to a school garden in Wrexham; we’ve supported groups from across Wales.
