WWF comment on Land Use Framework consultation

Commenting on the launch of the Land Use Framework consultation, David Walsh, head of public affairs at WWF, said:

"A national conversation on land use is long overdue. Today’s announcement is a crucial first step to ensure our precious and finite land is used carefully, and our legally binding climate and nature targets are met while providing nutritious food. But it won’t deliver what’s needed unless we have a stronger legal framework in place that ensures the needs of farming, nature and climate action are met, and addresses the risks of increasing environmental damage overseas. This is why WWF is calling for a Living Planet Act to guarantee accountability and ensure the government's plans add up.”
