On this day we celebrate Jaguars!
To coincide with International Jaguar Day, we’d like to invite you to get to know more about this incredible species. We've got some simple and fun ways to show your support; from learning more about jaguars and their habitat, to crafting a rainforest inspired artwork.
Camera traps: Step into the Jaguar's jungle
Camera traps give us an important insight into the lives of jaguars. They provide data on jaguar presence, population sizes and how jaguars are interacting between themselves and with other wildlife. Camera traps also help us to understand how humans and livestock interact with jaguars. All this data informs WWF’s jaguar conservation efforts, including community collaboration for projects involved human-jaguar coexistence, and even sustainable livelihood initiatives such as ecotourism.
Thanks to our work with communities in Latin America, here's some of the amazing jaguar camera trap imagery we have gathered. Enjoy a privileged look at the jaguar in their jungle home!
