WHY WE’RE WORKING TOGETHER
Teaming up with a credit card provider gives our supporters a no-cost way of supporting our urgent conservation work around the world
WHAT WE’RE DOING
For nearly 25 years we’ve worked with MBNA, the operator of the WWF credit card. MBNA contributes 40p to WWF for every £100 spent on each card, and makes a payment of £15 for every year an account remains open and active.
The card itself is quite special, too. Its eye-catching snow leopard design was chosen by WWF-UK supporters for the 20th anniversary of the partnership.
WHAT WE’VE ACHIEVED
In the first 20 years of our partnership we raised more than £13 million for WWF’s projects around the world. The vital funding has gone to all kinds of initiatives, notably our campaigns to double the number of tigers in the wild by 2022, and to tackle devastating rhino poaching.
As for the snow-leopard card that’s continuing to drive this vital support for our work, its innovative design won it a ‘Highly Commended’ Credit Card and Payment Award the year after its launch!
“This is one of our longest standing affinity card relationships… [It] shows what can be done through relationships like this, and through the passion of every WWF supporter who holds one of these cards.”
Michael Donald, Commercial and Customer Experience Executive, MBNA
