A programme for students 16 years+ in England, aimed at developing leadership and project management skills whilst making positive change for our natural world.

What is the Environment Leaders Programme

The Environment Leaders Programme (ELP) is a project planning qualification currently developed for 16 years plus in partnership with WWF, the RSPB and the Leadership Skills Foundation.

The Environment Leaders Programme is currently underpinned by a Level 3 Qualification in Leading a Project for Positive Change.

It’s designed to develop the essential leadership and project management skills needed to make a positive change for the natural world.

Students will research, plan, lead and evaluate their own projects and gain valuable practical experience as well as the opportunity to gain 8 UCAS points.

What is invovled?

The Environment Leaders Programme has been designed to encourage independent learning and can be flexibly delivered through traditional, hybrid and virtual learning environments. The course materials have also been co-created with teachers and students.

The total qualification time is approximately. 50 hours with the independent learning hours at 40 hours. Depending on your delivery model) the guided learning hours can be between 10 – 20 hours.

The qualification includes a mix of theory and competence-based criteria. Learners must provide evidence that they understand the relevant concepts and information, which will be evidenced in their Learner Evidence Records.​

The practical-based aspects of the course will be assessed through written observations by the tutor within the Learner Evidence Records.​
