On the 4th of November, WWF were joined by Geri Halliwell-Horner at The Living Planet Centre - an accomplished singer and author who is widely recognized for her iconic place in British pop culture as a member of the record-breaking girl group The Spice Girls. Earlier this year, Geri launched her new book ‘Rosie Frost and the Falcon Queen’ at a unique event at the Tower of London, as the story draws inspiration from major moments in Tudor history intertwined with modern conservation messages.
In a special one-off event, Geri read an excerpt from Rosie Frost and the Falcon Queen to the public and took part in a Q&A hosted by WWF Youth Ambassador Abbie. Members from the public also got to take part in an exclusive book signing with Geri, with all proceeds from the event being donated to WWF-UK to help support conservation efforts across the globe.
A long-time WWF supporter and animal lover, Geri is also donating a percentage of the overall profit from the book to WWF. Her children’s book Rosie Frost & the Falcon Queen is a sweeping adventure on a hidden island, filled with family secrets, shocking betrayals, amazing music, and girl power. Suddenly orphaned and alone, the character Rosie Frost is sent to the mysterious Bloodstone Island—home not only to a school for extraordinary teens, but also a sanctuary for endangered species. When the island itself comes under threat, Rosie knows she must enter and win the Falcon Queen Games in a desperate bid to save it. But Rosie can’t do it alone. She finds that believing in herself—and her friends—is the first step to finding the power she never knew she had.
