WWF Statement on Chancellor's Speech to Labour conference

Commenting on The Rt Hon Rachel Reeves MP speech to the Labour Party conference, David Walsh, head of public affairs at WWF said:

"The chancellor promised a budget to rebuild Britain, and having pledged to be ‘Britain’s first green chancellor’ there is no better way of ensuring the UK’s prosperity than the government meeting its commitments on climate change."

"Whether it’s investing in clean, cheap British energy or supporting our farmers so they are fairly rewarded for transitioning to regenerative practices, nature and a safe climate underpin the health and wealth of our nation. At the budget we urge the government to provide certainty and enable investment by putting the climate and nature crisis at the heart of its plans."
