In 2007, United Biscuits and WWF. Through this partnership, United Biscuits was the first company to commit to sourcing palm oil entirely from sustainable sources.
By pledging to source sustainable palm oil for its products, United Biscuits has helped to raise awareness for the future of the Heart of Borneo rainforest, thus helping to protect orang-utans and many others species, while also enhancing the lives of the communities that live there.
The partnership between WWF and United Biscuits is based on highlighting climate change in the Southern Ocean. With the penguin being a key species in the Antarctic, this theme was used in a cause-related marketing campaign during summer 2008.
