Nike
WWF was one of three charities which benefited from the Nike+ Human Race in 2008 – a 10K race that took place in 25 cities around the world on the same day – 31 August.
For each runner, Nike donated £5 to WWF, with the London event having nearly 6,000 runners. The race is estimated to raise at least US$1 million worldwide for WWF’s work to combat climate change.
Nike has been a member of WWF’s Climate Savers programme since 2001 and since then has reduced its greenhouse gas emissions by 13% from Nike-owned operations and business travel.
